Hailing straight out of Southsea, the Ghosts are a 9-piece indie hip-hop collective of rappers, singers and musicians creating tracks that lend themselves to a variety of genres. The result is a rich array of soulful sounds packed with live instrumentation and perceptive lyricism.

Their second album marks a significant milestone for a band that has honed their craft over four years, evolving from a budding collective to gracing stages at grassroots venues and beyond. Through intricately woven melodies, ‘Common Folk’ explores themes such as alienation, collective anxiety, and insecurity. Heavy hip-hop vibes laden with horns, it’s Primal Scream meets Happy Mondays meets Sneaker Pimps.

The Ghosts formed in late 2020 and have since made shockwaves with electrifying performances at the likes of Isle of Wight Festival, Victorious Festival, Haslemere Festival, Icebreaker Festival and Portsmouth's legendary The Wedgewood Rooms. Following their debut album 'Silent Assassins', which garnered significant attention on BBC Introducing and saw 'Stay Free' crowned as Record of the Week on BBC Radio Solent, along with 'Medicine' earning a spot on BBC Radio 6’s Introducing Mixtape, 'Common Folk' is poised to establish itself as a defining second album.
